Q & A

What’s your approach?
We create your beautiful wedding-day style by not turning you into an entirely different person. I always encourage my bride to be herself. We work with your personal style and beauty. People should recognize that beautiful woman walking down the aisle — that’s you!

When do we get started?

I prefer to at least meet with the bride at least two months before the Big Day. For one thing, the bride usually has so much to do. There are tons of details to plan, and the schedule gets tight! Best to get your hair and makeup prep well out of the way. So brides put down a deposit and reserve a day to meet.

Where do you work?
I make brides beautiful for their weddings all over the area, from Vermont to Long Island to New Jersey, and all over the Hudson Valley. Recent weddings range from elegant restaurants to estates, rustic farms to charming inns.

How do we start?
To get started, I’ll meet you either at your house or at a studio in the historic village of Saugerties. The studio is beautiful space with terrific light. It’s close to some great restaurants, and my brides often bring friends or family with them to make a day of it. The planning should have lots of special treats in it — they not only make things stress-free, they’ll be lovely memories later.
I’ll ask you to send me some photographs of styles you love before the meeting, or bring them when we meet. Often brides send their pinterest boards. Send me a photo of your dress, too, so I can see its color and style. Do you have some special jewelry picked out? Are you wearing a headpiece? A veil? Tell me where the wedding will be. What type of setting is it?
When we meet, come in with your hair and makeup done the way you wear it normally. I’ll ask you about your daily routine. So much goes into finding just the right look for the Big Day. I really want to know who you are.

Is everything styled and planned in advance?
Absolutely. That may include seeing you in the dress, seeing the venue, trying different styles. Whatever meets your needs. The bridal party doesn’t need to be styled in advance, since their styles will be related to the brides. But of course I’m happy to meet everyone.

What about the Wedding Day?
On the Big Day, I’ll be there from the start to make sure your look goes smoothly. If we’re also doing the bridal party I’ll have a team of expert stylists with assist. I get everything taken care of so we can tackle any last minute hitches without any stress.

Do you do other events too?
Absolutely. I have a whole range of regular clients as well, and I also do prom, special events, and boudoir shoots.

How do we get started?
Contact me as soon as you’re ready. But don’t delay. We get booked fast, especially during the spring and summer — and if you’re a bride, chances are you’ve got a lot to do. Don’t wait until the last minute.

If I want to meet you at a salon, can I?
Sure! I also work at Mela Salon in historic Kingston, during the week, so you’re welcome to come see me there. Please contact me first to arrange a visit.
